A small job last week. We were asked to look into a NZXT AIO cooler. These are closed loop water coolers for Intel/AMD Processors. Upon fitting we found that temperatures sky rocketed to the thermal limit of 95c within less than 5 minutes.
Pump was running. We stripped it down and noticed the water discoloured.
We stripped down to the pump heatsink and found a large amount of particles built up on the heatsink. This was fully cleaned and the system was flushed through completely, 5 times.
Brand new Corsair XL5 Performance coolant was added, topped up when required to remove air from the system and put back together.
Customers Ryzen 7 3700 @ 4.3Ghz now hits 64c at full load at 15 minutes!
